An Earth-sized rogue planet discovered in the Milky Way
Our Galaxy may be teeming with rogue planets, gravitationally unbound to any star. An international team of scientists, led by Polish astronomers from the University of Warsaw, has announced the discovery of the smallest Earth-sized free-floating planet found to date.

Discoveries of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology in Berenike
Archaeologists from the PCMA UW summarized the effects of the archaeological work carried out in 2020 at the Berenike site in Egypt, as part of the international project "The Berenike Project". Scientists conducted research, among others, in the temple of the Egyptian deities Isis and Serapis, where sculptures referring to traditions known from Asia and the interior of Africa were discovered.
Urban Health Case Challenge 2020
In November 2020, the 4EU+ Alliance and the School of Global Health at University of Copenhagen will be holding a new case competition for bachelor and master's students as well as doctoral candidates: the Urban Health Case Challenge. Tooth structure of an early mammaliform
Dr. Mateusz Tałanda from the UW Faculty of Biology is one of the scientists that conducted research on an early mammaliform displaying tooth anatomy. The description of a new species called Kalaallitkigun jenkinsi has just been published in the prestigious journal “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America”.

The Denouement of the Enigma of the Roman Mosaic from the House of Aion in Paphos
After years of research conducted by Prof. Marek T. Olszewski from the UW Faculty of Archaeology, the iconographic program of the famous mosaic from the reception room of the Roman House of Aion in Paphos (Cyprus) has been resolved. The interpretation of the Polish researcher was accepted by scholars of Roman iconography as adequate and precise.
Virtual Nubia: Digital reconstructions of medieval monasteries in Sudan
How did medieval monasteries in Nubia look? Now it is possible to find it out. Archaeologists from the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw have digitally reconstructed buildings that can now be visited without leaving home.
