“The Books of Jacob”: Read with UW
“The Books of Jacob” is one of the most popular epic novels in recent years. Olga Torakczuk’s work became favoured as the author received the Nobel Prize in literature. Not everyone knows that the books mentioned by Tokarczuk in her masterpiece are available in the University of Warsaw Library. Martyna Osuch from BUW tells more about it in a video.
BUW celebrates its 21st birthday
BUW is the main library of the University of Warsaw. On 15th December 1999, the library was opened to readers in its new premises in Powiśle, at Dobra 56/66 street. In the beginning, BUW granted 42 temporary entrance cards. Today it has more than 100 000 registered users.
BUW for owls
Mid-year assessment period at the University of Warsaw is just around the corner. Students who prefer burning the midnight oil can take part in “BUW for owls” event. From Monday 21st January to Saturday 2nd February, the University of Warsaw Library will be open until the early hours.
