Fair, transparent and merit-based recruitment and career
As set in the European Charter of Researchers, universities are bound to progress their researchers’ development, whereas researchers are obliged to develop their skills and qualifications. The actions should aim at minimising the employment uncertainty while increasing the employability.
The Gender Equality Plan for the employees and students who need to combine professional work with caring for children, “We are all equal” campaign, “The Anti-Discrimination Guidebook”, provide examples of the actions undertaken by the UW against any non-discrimination behaviour. Here, we are discussing the ongoing actions and planned activities to ensure equality issues at the UW.
Benefits of the HR Excellence in Research
The HR Excellence in Research is a voluntary tool. The gained award identifies the institution as committed to support researchers’ skills and careers, and provide them with a good working environment. In February, the University of Warsaw entered the process of the renewal of the award from the European Commission.
The evaluation of the implemented Human Resources Strategy for Researchers at the UW
The Education Quality Evaluation Unit has reported the results of the survey among academic teachers. The aim of the survey was to evaluate the implementation process of the requirements stated in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The Foundation Year for student candidates
Starting the 6th June the 2022/2023 Foundation Year has been launched for international student candidates. The course programme includes not only English language learning classes but also various activities related with the Polish culture and academic life.
Admission System for Candidates from Ukraine
In cooperation with the Inter-University Centre for Informatisation, the University of Warsaw has released the national online admission system available for candidates from Ukraine: Online Admission System for Candidates from Ukraine (OASCU). The tool helps to search for particular type of studies, as well as job and cooperation opportunities at Polish academic institutions.
The 2022 Open Day
This year the Open Day at the University of Warsaw will take place on 23rd April. On the campus at Krakowskie Przedmieście Street anyone interested in the educational offer of the UW will have an opportunity to meet and talk to representatives of each faculty, student organisation, administrative office and many more.
