Course on PIT for international employees

Welcome Point invites international employees at the University of Warsaw to join an online training: “Polish Personal Income Taxes for International Employees”, which will take place on 24th March.

Career Planning Workshop

On 22nd March Welcome Point is organising the next edition of the Career Planning workshop open to all long-term international students. The registration deadline is 14th March, 12 pm.

Training on the legalisation of stay in Poland

The Welcome Point organises an in-person informational meeting on the legalisation of stay in Poland for UW employees. Registration is open until 10th March.

Polish language courses for international employees

The University of Warsaw is offering an unpaid 30-hour online Polish language course for its international employees. The registration deadline is 27th December.

Reinforcing internationalisation

Career development and mobility are key factors in the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers. The University of Warsaw is implementing a number of actions to support and reinforce internationalisation. Among the introduced initiatives there is the Welcome Point.

Onboarding training for international academics

“Onboarding at the UW” is a traditionally organised set of trainings to make a smooth start for international employees of the University of Warsaw. Workshops on the Polish culture, customs and interaction within the Polish academic environment are available in November.

Welcome Point’s Pavilion opens again

The information point for international students, doctoral candidates and employees is open again. The Welcome Point’s Pavilion is located on the Small Court of the Main Campus at Krakowskie Przedmieście, and will remain open till the mid-October.

Welcome Month for newcomers at the UW

Each year the Welcome Point at the University of Warsaw offers a series of events to help new international students and doctoral candidates to familiarise with the academic environment of the UW.

Intensive Polish language course for international students

The registration for the intensive Polish language course for foreign students at the UW is open until 31st August. The course attendees will acquire basic vocabulary and phrases to communicate efficiently not only at the university but also in a daily life.

Internationalisation and mobility support actions

The University of Warsaw introduces a number of support initiatives within internationalisation and mobility to help visiting employees, doctoral candidates and students. Here we are presenting the actions under the “HR Excellence in Research at the UW in June” campaign.

Recruitment for the “Solidarity with Ukraine” programme

Recruitment procedures for the "Solidarity with Ukraine" programme start on 6th June. The course lasts from 1st July to 30th September. The National Agency for Academic Exchange granted 350,000 zł to the University of Warsaw for this project.

Introduction to the USOSweb – online training for international UW employees

Employees using the system are invited to an introductory training course on the basics of USOSweb. The training will be conducted on 24th January.

Online meeting on the legalisation of stay in Poland

On 24th and 25th November, Welcome Point organises two informational meetings on the legalisation of stay in Poland. During the webinar, participants will learn the most important legal aspects regarding their residence in Poland during their studies and after graduation. The application deadline is 22nd November.

Workshops for international employees

Welcome Point prepared two workshops for UW international employees. One is related to cultural orientation and the Polish culture (on 22nd November), and the second concerns practical information on the structure and culture of the University of Warsaw. The registration deadline is 14th November.

Workshop for long-term students from abroad

On 26th November, the UW Welcome Point will organise a workshop on setting goals for personal growth. It is open to international students. The registration closes on 15th November.

Cultural Orientation Workshops at UW 2021

Welcome Point will organise “Cultural Orientation Workshops”. Its main goal is to provide all newcomers at the University of Warsaw with tools that will ease their life in a new place at the very beginning. The event will be held on 15th October.

First steps in Poland: Student Guide

Welcome Point has made a video with a checklist before arrival. The video contains essential information for international students coming to the University of Warsaw.

Online Welcome Day 2021

On 29th and 30th September, the UW Welcome Point organises two meetings for long-term international students who begin their education at the University of Warsaw. The meetings will inaugurate the 2021/2022 academic year.
