The opening ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year at UW
The inauguration ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year at the University of Warsaw will begin at 2 pm on 2nd October. The event will take place in the Auditorium Maximum on the campus at Krakowskie Przedmieście. The inaugural lecture will be given by Prof. Hieronim Grala from the UW Faculty of „Artes Liberales”. The event will be streamed son the University’s website.
2023 Night of Museums at the UW
The University of Warsaw participated in the celebrations of the Night of Museums, which was held on 13th and 14th May. Various attractions were prepared for that occasion by the UW Museum, Library, Botanic Garden, Faculty of Archeology and Faculty of Oriental Studies.
President of the Portuguese parliament visits the UW
On 4th May, the University of Warsaw was visited by a Portuguese delegation led by Prof. Augusto Santos Silva, the President of the Assembly of the Republic. During the visit, Prof. Silva met with Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, and delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Modern Languages.
In front of the Faculty of Medicine
On 17th March the representatives of the University of Warsaw and the Military Institute of Medicine – National Research Institute took part in a series of lectures and scientific meetings titled “Under the sign: Medicine”, which was accompanied by the unveiling of a new plate of the Faculty of Medicine.
New episode of Read with UW – “Kopernik. Rewolucje”
“This year we are celebrating Nicolaus Copernicus and I recommend reaching out not only for his own works, but also for the publications about him”, Agnieszka Kościelniak-Osiak from the UW Library says. As a part of the series #ReadwithUW Kościelniak-Osiak presents a book “Kopernik. Rewolucje” by Wojciech Orliński.
December with VC UW
On the 3rd December the University Volunteer Centre (UVC) will be celebrating the 8th anniversary, and the International Volunteer Day 2 days later as well. To commemorate these events, UVC and volunteers prepare several actions and activities like “Mission: Christmas Card” or a pet food bank called “Filling in Pets’ Bellies”.
