On 8th December, Dr. Visa A.J. Kurki from the Law Faculty of the University of Helsinki will be speaking about legal personhood and animal rights.

Dr. A.J. Kurki is a Finnish legal scholar and philosopher, working at the Law Faculty of the University of Helsinki. He completed his doctoral thesis on legal personhood at the Law Faculty of the University of Cambridge. Besides legal personhood, his scientific interests include animal law, rights theory and social ontology.

 

The meeting will be held in English on 8th December at 5 p.m. via Zoom. Also, it will be live-streamed on the Facebook page of the “Klimat na WPiA UW”, run by a research team for environmental law and biodiversity at the UW Faculty of Law and Administration.

 

Following the lecture, there will be a time to ask questions. The meeting with Dr. Visa A.J. Kurki is part of the Legal Environment 2020 project (Projekt Środowisko Prawne 2020) concerning the field of social ecology.
