UW doctoral candidates selected as laureates of “Ma thèse en 180 secondes” competition
Julia Łukasiak and Aleksandra Burdziej are the UW doctoral candidates who were awarded first two prizes in this year's Polish edition of "Ma thèse en 180 secondes" competition. The participants' task was to present the subjects of their scientific research in French. The presentation could not last more than three minutes.
University of Warsaw Annual Report 2019
Once a year, a report featuring essential information on the university activity is compiled. The University of Warsaw Annual Report 2019 includes significant data on UW. The UW Executive Summary and annexes are available in the English language. On 24th June, the UW Senate adopted the document.
Reduced accommodation fee
In June and July, just like in the last few months, students and doctoral candidates of the University of Warsaw will pay less for their accommodation in residence halls. According to the rector’s order as of 3rd June 2020, accommodation fee will be reduced by 50%.
Latest information and advice for the UW community during the coronavirus pandemic
Following the new ordinances of the UW rector, online teaching and learning will continue, except classes which cannot be conducted remotely. It is possible to work remotely, perform work on a roster basis or under the flexible working-time system. On 26th May, Prof. Marcin Pałys issued an ordinance which introduces changes – specifies – some of the provisions of the document published on 21st May
BUW resumes lending and free scanning services
As a result of easing restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, readers can partly use the University of Warsaw Library (BUW) resources. As of 18th May, BUW resumes lending, free scanning services, and individual appointments with readers.

Admissions to Doctoral Schools for the 2020/2021 academic year
Four doctoral schools at the University of Warsaw are now open to applications. University graduates who would like to pursue their scientific career can apply to their preferable doctoral school, register in the Internet Recruitment of Candidates (IRK) and submit required documents until 28th June.
Message regarding financial support for students and doctoral candidates
On 22nd April, Prof. Jolanta Choińska-Mika, the UW Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching issued a notice, dedicated to students and doctoral candidates, informing them, among other things, how to submit applications for the allowance aid and other benefits social scholarships and scholarships for persons with disabilities.
