Kharkiv National University’s representatives at UW
On 27th November, the University of Warsaw hosted a delegation from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. During the meeting, the principles of research and didactic cooperation were discussed, particularly in the fields of medicine and science.
International delegation visits UW
On 22nd November, a meeting between the UW authorities and a delegation of researchers from Azerbaijan, France and Türkiye was held. The main topic of the conversation was strengthening of the cooperation between the institutions in terms of research and education.
Building bridges at the European University
“Building bridges – becoming one European University”. This was the motto of this year’s meeting of representatives of the eight member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance. The event, organised at the University of Milan, was attended by around thirty people from the UW.
Taiwanese delegation at UW
On 20th September, the authorities of the University of Warsaw met with a delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China. “We are interested in deepening the cooperation with Taiwanese universities in terms of research and teaching,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said.
Representatives of the Indian university visiting UW
On 9th August, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, hosted the meeting with representatives of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University from India. The main aim of the visit was to launch the research and didactic collaboration between the UW and the university from Hisar.
Visit of the South Korean delegation
On 13–14 July, the University of Warsaw hosted representatives of the academic and diplomatic world from South Korea. Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, participated in meetings with the President of Chonnam National University, the Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.
On rankings and internationalisation at THE Europe Universities Summit
Rankings motivate universities to reach higher positions and achieve better results. As a research university we plan to collaborate with institutions from Europe and the rest of the world. The university should be a place of developing new competences, sharing experiences and opinions,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said during the THE Europe Universities Summit, co-organised by the UW.
The UW Rector’s Annual Report 2022
On 29th June the Senate of the University of Warsaw adopted “The University of Warsaw Rector’s Annual Report 2022”. The report covers significant data on the UW, e.g. research, education, international cooperation, academic mobility, social and cooperate outreach, finances and investments. The document also includes the calendar of the most important events of the past year.
Visit of the Japanese delegation
On 13th June, the University of Warsaw hosted a meeting between its authorities and the representatives of the University of Tsukuba. “Our relations with Japanese universities are very good and the UW students are open to new exchange opportunities,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said, welcoming the guests.
President of the Portuguese parliament visits the UW
On 4th May, the University of Warsaw was visited by a Portuguese delegation led by Prof. Augusto Santos Silva, the President of the Assembly of the Republic. During the visit, Prof. Silva met with Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, and delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Modern Languages.
University of Warsaw as a member of the ACTRIS-ERIC
The European Commission has taken a decision to establish the ACTRIS-ERIC consortium. Its aim is to concretise a long-term effort by several European countries to create a sustainable infrastructure supporting atmospheric and climate research. Poland is one of the 17 founding members of the consortium. The UW is represented in this group by Prof. Iwona Stachlewska from the Institute of Geophysics.
Polish-Mongolian cooperation agreement
On 25th April, an agreement between the University of Warsaw and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences was signed in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. The cooperation between two research units will be focused on education, research projects, academic exchange and training programmes in oriental studies, geography and archaeology.
German delegation visits the UW
On 30th March, the UW authorities met with the representatives of twenty German universities, which belong to the German Academic Exchange Service (German: DAAD). The main aim of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation and discuss the possibility of joint academic projects.
