The organisation of education at UW in the 2021/2022 academic year
The new academic year will begin on 1st October. Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, has defined the rules for the organisation of education in the upcoming academic year 2021/2022 and the rules for the organisation of online classes, examinations and credits.
ECHE awarded to UW
The University of Warsaw is the most active Polish university regarding the mobility of students and employees. The European Commission awarded UW with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). The document allows higher education institutions to apply and participate in the Erasmus+ programme for education, training, youth and sport 2021-2027.
University of Warsaw Annual Report 2020
The University of Warsaw Annual Report 2020 is out. It includes significant data on UW, e.g. research and teaching activities, international collaboration, academic exchange, relations with the socio-economic environment, finances and university investments. The UW Executive Summary and annexes are available in English. The Senate of the University of Warsaw adopted the document.
Guide to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at UW
The University of Warsaw published a “Guide to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the University of Warsaw”. The document is now available online in English and contains a list of rules and procedures at the UW, as well as recommendations and advice on preventing and reacting in situations of sexual harassment.
Warsaw Team with high scores on ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge
Warsaw Team (WT) has performed well in the finals of the ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge 2020-2021. UW students won gold in Machine Learning “Language Exam (LE) Challenge” and bronze in PRESTO application. WT was one of seven international teams that took part in the competition’s final virtually and in this online category scored first place in benchmark tests twice.
Life-saving pancakes, Arabic soup, and vegan spaghetti are examples of recipes of UW students’ favourite dishes included in the Polish-English “Student Cookbook”. The culinary publication is joint work of the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw (VC UW) and students. It is available online.
Results of the 2nd call for 4EU+ educational projects
30 projects have been selected for funding in the second call for 4EU+ joint educational projects. UW scientists will be engaged in 22 initiatives, coordinating seven of them. The project teams bring together academics, doctoral candidates and students from at least three 4EU+ universities..
Online UW Open Day 2021: Coverage
Over 5 800 visitors, 70 stands prepared by faculties and units of the University of Warsaw, and more than 5 000 chat messages — these are the statistics of this year's UW Online Open Day. Candidates for studies could learn about the university’s educational offer, admission rules and talk to students and lecturers.
Photo contest for 4EU+ students and doctoral candidates
Students and doctoral candidates of 4EU+ member universities, including the University of Warsaw, are invited to participate in a first-ever 4EU+ Student Photo Contest on Instagram. The key theme of the contest is Europeanness. The deadline for entry is 3rd May.

The academic community of the University of Warsaw is diverse. The safety and wellbeing of its members are essential. UW aims to build an environment free from any form of unequal treatment. People studying and working at UW can seek psychological and legal support offered by the university.
