BUW for owls
Mid-year assessment period at the University of Warsaw is just around the corner. Students who prefer burning the midnight oil can take part in “BUW for owls” event. From Monday 21st January to Saturday 2nd February, the University of Warsaw Library will be open until the early hours.
UW in 2018 – 10 events
In 2018, the University of Warsaw was engaged in various research and didactic initiatives including the UW preparations for implementation the Law on Higher Education and Science (Law 2.0), formation of 4EU – a European University Alliance, and the federation with the Medical University of Warsaw. Anti-discrimination and anti-violence workshops at UW
In November, students of the University of Warsaw will have an opportunity to take part in workshops during which they will learn how to react to violence and unequal treatment due to origin, nationality or skin colour. They will also find out where to look for support at the university and outside of it. The project is carried out thanks to the participatory budgeting of the University of Warsaw.
Cultural Orientation Workshops
The new academic year has just started. If you are an international student who began their studies at the University of Warsaw, and you want to find out more about Poland, Warsaw and the communication in a multicultural environment, you can take part in our Cultural Orientation Workshops.
The centenary of the restoration of Polish independence
In November 1918, Poland regained its independence. Therefore, this year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our independence. Main festivities will take place on 11th November. On 12th November, the University of Warsaw will be closed due to a national holiday.
The letter of intent between UW and WUM
On 16th October, the University of Warsaw and the Medical University of Warsaw signed a letter of intent on the creation of their federation. Both universities want to carry out joint research projects, run joint courses, and enable their students and employees to use facilities of a partner university. UW and WUM want to formalise their cooperation in October 2019.
The information meeting for short-term students
Over 700 international students, including participants of Erasmus+ programme, bilateral and governmental agreements as well as the Fulbright programme, gathered in the Auditorium Maximum building in order to get all the essential information regarding studying at the University of Warsaw.
