Photo contest for 4EU+ students and doctoral candidates

Students and doctoral candidates of 4EU+ member universities, including the University of Warsaw, are invited to participate in a first-ever 4EU+ Student Photo Contest on Instagram. The key theme of the contest is Europeanness. The deadline for entry is 3rd May.

4EU+ Alliance Becomes an Association

The 4EU+ Governing Board, comprising Rectors of six member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance, met online to pass a resolution to establish an association "4EU+ European University Alliance e.V.". The association’s registered office will be in Heidelberg, Germany.

Online courses offer for 4EU+ students and doctoral candidates

The University of Warsaw will open 120 courses to 4EU+ students and doctoral candidates in the summer semester. The registration period for 4EU+ students has started on 1st February and will last until 14th March.

2nd edition of UW mini-grants: Selection results

Four inter-university teams have received funding in the second edition of UW research mini-grants that support joint research initiatives in the 4EU+ flagships.

4EU+ joint educational projects: Second call for proposals

4EU+ academics can now submit their project proposals and receive funding to carry out educational activities that will involve students and doctoral candidates from the Alliance. All projects need to bring together at least three 4EU+ member universities and fall under one of the four 4EU+ flagship programmes.

2020 at a glance

It has been a calendar year that will long be remembered by everyone. 2020 at the University of Warsaw saw, e.g. different rules for university operations during a COVID-19 pandemic, change of the UW authorities, ground-breaking research projects, national and international successes of UW employees and students. We present selected facts of the last year.

UW team among the winners of the first 4EU+ UHCC

A student team representing the University of Warsaw won the second price in the 4EU+ Urban Health Case Challenge. UHCC was organised to address the many urban changes concerning health and demographic transformation in our growing urban environments. Due to the pandemic, the event took place online.

Urban Health Case Challenge 2020

From 23rd-27th November 2020, the 4EU+ University Alliance is hosting the first ever 4EU+ Urban Health Case Challenge. In 2020, the challenge is about community resilience in times of COVID-19 and the external case provider is Gehl. On 27th November, everyone can join the 14 student teams from eight European cities when they present their solutions to the challenge.

4EU+ Online Annual Meeting

On 16th November, the Annual Meeting of the 4EU+ Alliance will be held as an online event. It will bring together academic leaders, students and staff of the six 4EU+ universities who are actively involved in the development of the Alliance as well as representatives of the European Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and 4EU+ Associated Partners.

Mini-grant call is open

UW has opened its second call for mini-grants. Research teams composed of representatives of UW and at least two other 4EU+ member institutions can apply for funding. The closing date for submitting proposals is 19th November.

4EU+ educational projects: Results of the call

6 projects coordinated by UW academics will receive funding in the first 4EU+ call for educational projects.

E-TRAINEE project with the Erasmus+ funding

A team of experts from UW, Charles University, Heidelberg University and the University of Innsbruck have received funding in the Erasmus+ “Strategic Partnerships” call.

TRAIN4EU+ project awarded H2020 funding

The 4EU+ Alliance has been awarded additional funding in the Horizon 2020 ‘Science with and for Society’ call to support the research and innovation dimension of European University Alliances.

Summer online course offered by “Polonicum”

Eager to start or continue your adventure with the Polish language and culture? From 3rd to 28th August, the UW Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners “Polonicum” offers its summer course. This year the course will be conducted online. The application deadline is 15th July.

Letter of intent on Polish-French collaboration

Prof. Marcin Pałys, the UW Rector, signed a letter of intent, between the University of Warsaw, University of Sorbonne, Centre National De La Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and the Embassy of the French Republic to Poland, on strengthen research cooperation in the area of humanities and social sciences.
