Doctoral schools’ admissions

The UW has started admission procedures for doctoral candidates. The application deadline is 19th June. The registration is carried out via the IRK system.

Online UW Doctoral Schools Open Day

Those interested in pursuing their doctoral education can take part in the UW Doctoral Schools Open Day. The event is held on 18th March online. Prior registration is required.

Summer schools for doctoral candidates – call for proposals

The UW units can apply for funds to organise doctoral summer schools in on-site, hybrid or remote modes. It will be the last edition of the competition, organised under the University’s Integrated Development Programme (ZIP). The submission deadline is 10th March.

Doctoral schools’ admissions for 2022/2023

The UW has started admission procedures for doctoral candidates. This year the offer includes 330 places in the four doctoral schools of: the Humanities, Social Sciences, Exact and Natural Sciences, and the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School.

Open Day at the UW Doctoral Schools

The Open Day at the UW Doctoral Schools will be held on 9th April online. The live-streaming will be available in Polish and English. In addition to presentations of the schools and admission procedures, candidates will have an opportunity to participate in a discussion with speakers during the “PhD - a school of life” webinar.

The survey for the UW Doctoral Schools’ participants

Up to 18th April, the UW Doctoral Schools' participants can complete the survey regarding the situation of young researchers at the University of Warsaw. The activity is monitored by the UW Team for Quality of Education Assurance.

The organisation of education at UW in the 2021/2022 academic year

The new academic year will begin on 1st October. Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, has defined the rules for the organisation of education in the upcoming academic year 2021/2022 and the rules for the organisation of online classes, examinations and credits.

Admissions to Doctoral Schools for the 2020/2021 academic year

Four doctoral schools at the University of Warsaw are now open to applications. University graduates who would like to pursue their scientific career can apply to their preferable doctoral school, register in the Internet Recruitment of Candidates (IRK) and submit required documents until 28th June.

Seminar of Doctoral School of Social Sciences

On 25th February, Prof. Anna Matysiak from the UW Faculty of Economic Sciences, who recently received an ERC grant, will deliver a lecture entitled “Family and fertility in the dynamically changing world of work”. This lecture begins a series of meetings, being a part of the doctoral programme at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences.

Opening of Doctoral Schools at UW

Four UW doctoral schools inaugurated their academic year. Prof. Roman Kuźniar from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies delivered a lecture entitled “International order at the crossroads.”
