The Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw was organising Multicultural Meetings about Poland for international students. The participants could learn the basics of Polish language and become familiar with national folk customs and traditions.

UW students could take part in a workshop on intercultural communication. The event, organised by the UW Volunteer Centre, was held on 19th October.

“University as community: students’ perceptions of participation, engagement and belonging at European higher education institutions” is a report that was produced as part of the international UNICOMM project. The work on the publication was coordinated by the Volunteer Centre of the UW.

“Onboarding at the UW” is a traditionally organised set of trainings to make a smooth start for international employees of the University of Warsaw. Workshops on the Polish culture, customs and interaction within the Polish academic environment are available in November.

On the 3rd December the University Volunteer Centre (UVC) will be celebrating the 8th anniversary, and the International Volunteer Day 2 days later as well. To commemorate these events, UVC and volunteers prepare several actions and activities like “Mission: Christmas Card” or a pet food bank called “Filling in Pets’ Bellies”.

“Onboarding at UW” workshops for international students (long-term) and doctoral candidates will be held at the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw in the University of Warsaw Library on 30th and 1st October. The application deadline is 21st September. 

Life-saving pancakes, Arabic soup, and vegan spaghetti are examples of recipes of UW students’ favourite dishes included in the Polish-English “Student Cookbook”. The culinary publication is joint work of the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw (VC UW) and students. It is available online.

The Volunteer Centre of UW invites the entire community of the University of Warsaw to its Easter project. Those who want to get involved can send their online wishes, virtual and traditional cards to seniors staying in the Nursing Home of the Society of St. Francis de Sales in Warsaw.
