Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak elected the UW rector

On 17th June, the UW Electoral College elected Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak who will become the University of Warsaw rector in 2020-2024. He received mmm votes. There were three candidates: Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Prof. Paweł Strzelecki, and Prof. Andrzej Tarlecki.
The pre-election meeting on 25th May

On 17th June, members of the Electoral College will elect the UW rector for the 2020-2024 term. On 21st May, the University Electoral Committee registered three candidates. On 25th May, the candidates presented their programmes and answered questions, during the online pre-election meeting with members of the UW academic community. Letter of the University Council of the University of Warsaw to the academic community

The Council of the University of Warsaw Council addressed a letter to members of the academic community in which it outlined the process of selecting candidates for rector indicated by the Council. We publish the letter.
Changes to the schedule of election activities

The University Electoral Committee adopted a resolution changing the election activities conducted at the University of Warsaw. Due to the document, the UW rector will be elected on 17th June. New dates regarding election procedures result from the Order of the Rector of the University of Warsaw on prevention of the spread of the novel coronavirus.

On 3rd March, the first Electoral College meeting took place. Members of this body elected x candidates for the position of rector. On 22nd April, it will be clear who will manage the university’s activity, represent UW externally and be the superior of employees, students and doctoral candidates.

Every member of the UW community can come and ask Prof. Marcin Pałys a question concerning his electoral programme. The meeting with the candidate for UW rector will take place on 22nd March.
