Summer Polish language course
25th August marked the end of the 68th edition of the summer course in Polish language and culture organised by the Centre for Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners “POLONICUM”. This year, there were 100 participants. On the last day, the students danced the Polonaise in the UW Library Gardens.
Career development and mobility are key factors in the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers. The University of Warsaw is implementing a number of actions to support and reinforce internationalisation. Among the introduced initiatives there is the Welcome Point.
Internationalisation and mobility support actions
The University of Warsaw introduces a number of support initiatives within internationalisation and mobility to help visiting employees, doctoral candidates and students. Here we are presenting the actions under the “HR Excellence in Research at the UW in June” campaign.
Recruitment for the “Solidarity with Ukraine” programme
Recruitment procedures for the "Solidarity with Ukraine" programme start on 6th June. The course lasts from 1st July to 30th September. The National Agency for Academic Exchange granted 350,000 zł to the University of Warsaw for this project.
The Foundation Year for student candidates
Starting the 6th June the 2022/2023 Foundation Year has been launched for international student candidates. The course programme includes not only English language learning classes but also various activities related with the Polish culture and academic life.
Cultural Hot Spot
On 20th May the second edition of "Miasteczko na styku kultur – Cultural Hot Spot" will be held. Lectures on various cultures, meetings with international students, tasting dishes from distant corners of the world - these are the attractions planned for the Friday event.
The best foreign student in Poland
“I was searching for this kind of studies that would facilitate my further work in any part of the world. Now I am an ambassador of my country in Poland and an ambassador of the University of Warsaw in Tanzania,” says Karen Nyakato Kyabega, the best foreign student in Poland.
Online meeting on the legalisation of stay in Poland
On 24th and 25th November, Welcome Point organises two informational meetings on the legalisation of stay in Poland. During the webinar, participants will learn the most important legal aspects regarding their residence in Poland during their studies and after graduation. The application deadline is 22nd November.
