4EU+ workshop on Europeanness

On 10th-11th June, the University of Warsaw will organise a workshop on the challenges Europe faces in times of global crises. The event is open to 4EU+ doctoral candidates.

University of Heidelberg courses

UW students and doctoral candidates can sign up for online or hybrid courses offered by the 4EU+ Alliance universities in the summer semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Currently, it is possible to register for classes at the University of Heidelberg.

2nd edition of the 4EU+ Visiting Professorships

Academics of the University of Warsaw can take part in the second edition of the 4EU+ Visiting Professorships programme. Thanks to this initiative, research and teaching staff will be able to spend several months at a partner university, developing their research and educational projects. The mobility programme will be carried out in the 2024/2025 academic year.

4EU+ and UNICA joint webinar on the European degree

The UNICA network and the 4EU+ Alliance, which the University of Warsaw is a member of, organised a series of webinars regarding the European education. On 21st February, the first online meeting on the European degree, students’ involvement and the role of European university alliances took place.

4EU+ for Ukraine with the NAWA funding

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has once again granted funding to the University of Warsaw for the “4EU+ for Ukraine” project under the “Solidarity with Ukraine” programme. The project concerns the collaboration of the 4EU+ Alliance with three partner institutions from Ukraine.

4EU+ shared courses

Students and doctoral candidates of the University of Warsaw can sign up for courses organised by the 4EU+ Alliance universities in the summer semester of 2023/2024. Registrations for courses offered by Sorbonne University, the University of Milan, and the University of Geneva are open.

Call for proposals for 4EU+ shared courses initiative

Academic teachers of the University of Warsaw can submit their courses conducted in the summer semester of the 2023/2024 academic year as part of the 4EU+ shared courses initiative. Classes will be open to students and doctoral candidates from all member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance.

4EU+ Coffee Talk on Unconventional Digital Education

Chat GPT, Virtual Reality, and the use of digital tools in education were the topics which were discussed during an online meeting under the “4EU+ for Ukraine” project coordinated by the University of Warsaw. The event took place on 27th November.

4EU+ Urban Health Case Challenge 2023

Students and doctoral candidates of the University of Warsaw can apply for this year's edition of the 4EU+ Urban Health Case Challenge. Participants will strive to develop the best solution to a real-world issue regarding obesity in an urban environment. The deadline for submitting applications is 27th October.

4EU+ Annual Meeting in Milan

For the fifth time, the representatives of the 4EU+ Alliance member universities, including the University of Warsaw, were gathering at the 4EU+ Annual Meeting. This year, the event was held on 7th-9th November at the University of Milan.

The University of Warsaw Choir at Heidelberg University

On 23rd July, the University of Warsaw Choir will perform at a concert at Heidelberg University. The event takes place as part of the cultural cooperation of the 4EU+ Alliance universities.

4EU+ Against Cancer: Summer School 2023

Charles University in Prague is hosting in July the 4EU+ Summer School devoted to the research in oncology and its funding. The UW students (graduates of 1st cycle studies at least) and doctoral candidates interested in the topic can submit the application for the summer school by 15th May 2023.

4EU+ Annual Meeting in Copenhagen

”Sustainability – an ever closer alliance” was the theme of this year’s meeting of representatives of the seven 4EU+ Alliance member universities. Rectors, flagship coordinators, administration staff, doctoral candidates and students of the partner universities were discussing 4EU+ achievements and future plans that also dealt with an issue of sustainable development.

University of Geneva in the 4EU+ Alliance

Starting 1st August, the 4EU+ Alliance will be joined by the University of Geneva (UNIGE). The integration has been duly approved by the Governing Board of the European University Alliance.

Research career development and mobility

Apart from international research programmes, international and intersectoral mobility is a key factor in the development of a scientific career, self-improvement and education. As part of the information campaign called “HR Excellence in Research at the UW in June” we are describing university initiatives regarding this issue.

Fair, transparent and merit-based recruitment and career

As set in the European Charter of Researchers, universities are bound to progress their researchers’ development, whereas researchers are obliged to develop their skills and qualifications. The actions should aim at minimising the employment uncertainty while increasing the employability.

A symbol of trust

The University of Warsaw has entered the renewal procedure of the HR Excellence in Research award. Prof. Sambor Grucza, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Human Resources, is discussing the consequent changes that the distinction triggers and their influence on the university.

The UW mini-grants under the 4EU+ Alliance

The University of Warsaw has launched the third edition of the mini-grants programme for inter-institutional research teams under the framework of strategic partnerships. The programme can be joined by researchers including University staff members and/or doctoral candidates and students, and representatives of at least two other member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance.
