From 25 to 27 March four buildings being constructed under the multiannual plan “Uniwersytet Warszawski 2016-2027” were open to visitors. They projects include the Former Rector’s Building, students’ hall of residence in Służew, a new seat of the Faculty of Psychology, and the construction on the upper courtyard of the Main Campus. The meetings were attended by representatives of the UW community.

A reference to the surrounding space, optimum room layout, and a frugal means of expression. These features characterise the winning design for the UW’s Physical Education and Sports Centre building to be constructed in Warsaw’s Ochota district. The authors of the project are the Bureau Babyn Michałowski and Biuro Projektów Lewicki Łatak.

The Hall of Residence No. 7 with 380 places for students and doctoral candidates is built between Sulimy and Puławska streets. The first tenants are scheduled to move into the hall in the second half of 2024.

The multi-annual development plan aims primarily to stimulate the potential of the humanities and social sciences. Thanks to the programme, new buildings will be constructed, and others will be refurbished. Currently, the construction of one of the largest investments of the programme, the second stage of the building at Dobra 55, is in progress.

Two new buildings and one ceremony 19 November, the birthday of the University, will mark the opening of the new seats of the Faculty of Physics and the Centre of New Technologies.
