“Poland has great development opportunities in terms of technology and innovation. We have a number of excellent academic centres in this respect that are recognised internationally. The University of Warsaw is among them,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the Rector of the UW, said during a meeting at AI House.

On the occasion of the upcoming Easter, the Rector of the University of Warsaw wishes the entire Academic Community and Friends healthy, peaceful and family moments spent with their loved ones.

The University of Warsaw was an academic partner of the AI House and the Polish Business Hub, taking place during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The UW was represented by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, Robert Grey, the UW Chancellor, and Prof. Piotr Sankowski from the UW’s Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics.

An interdisciplinary team of scientists has discovered that, to effectively learn from others, it is necessary to engage the prefrontal cortex. Scientific data on this was presented using computational and analytical contributions, developed and carried out by prof. Krzysztof Turzyński from the UW Faculty of Physics. The discovery was published in the “Science Advances” scientific journal.

After 11 years of uninterrupted operation in space, the European Space Agency's (ESA) Gaia spacecraft has completed its sky scanning. During this time, it collected over 3 billion observations of approximately 2 billion stars and other celestial objects. The data gathered by the Gaia mission has revolutionised our understanding of the Milky Way and the surrounding universe.

International employees of the University of Warsaw can sign up for an online course on the Polish language. Classes will be held twice a week between April and June 2025. Enrolment is open on the Kampus platform until 28th March.

 “Nobles don’t work! What do Poles love the 1670 series for” is a workshop organised by the Welcome Point UW for international students and doctoral candidates. During the event, participants will take part in a screening of the 1670 series and a discussion on Polish culture. The workshop will take place on Thursday, 28th March.
