Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, met with representatives of Bayero University Kano, and academics from the UW’s Faculty of Oriental Studies. The talks concerned the enhancement of current academic cooperation between the two universities. The meeting was held on 15th April in the Golden Hall at the UW.

“The cooperation between the University of Warsaw and Mongolian universities has a long tradition. Polish students are strongly involved in learning about the Far East and they are expressing great interest in studying in Mongolia, China, Japan or Singapore,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said during the conference “Mongolia and the Mongols: Past and Present”.

On 25th April, an agreement between the University of Warsaw and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences was signed in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. The cooperation between two research units will be focused on education, research projects, academic exchange and training programmes in oriental studies, geography and archaeology.
