“The cooperation between the University of Warsaw and Mongolian universities has a long tradition. Polish students are strongly involved in learning about the Far East and they are expressing great interest in studying in Mongolia, China, Japan or Singapore,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said during the conference “Mongolia and the Mongols: Past and Present”.

The meeting of researchers on Mongolian history, culture, art, business and politics was organised by the UW’s Faculty of Oriental Studies, and the Embassy of Mongolia in Poland.

Polish students are strongly involved in learning about the Far East and they are expressing great interest in studying in Mongolia, China, Japan or Singapore. The University of Warsaw is always open for their students, doctoral candidates and researchers,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said.

 

The event was attended by Barkhasyn Dorj, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Poland, and Dorjgochoogiin Odgerel from the Science and Technology Fund.

 

 

Yurt on the campus

During the two-day international conference “Mongolia and the Mongols: Past and Present”, various cultural events were open for the UW community in a traditional yurt, which was set up in front of the Old Library on the University campus at Krakowskie Przedmieście. The programme includes a concert of the folk music ensemble “Blue Mongolia”, a lesson of the Mongolian archery “Sur Harvaa” and yurt assembly workshops.
