“This is an appropriate moment to thank you for all the support you have shown us,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, said in welcoming Roberta Metsola to the University. The President of the European Parliament talked to students about such subjects as the situation in Ukraine, women in politics and her vision of the future of Europe. 

“The discussions regarding democracy, peaceful development and tolerance are always important,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said during a meeting on countering disinformation, organised on 13th October at the Centre for French Culture and Francophone Studies, the University of Warsaw. The event was an initiative of the Weimar Triangle.

On 17th June, members of the Electoral College will elect the UW rector for the 2020-2024 term. On 21st May, the University Electoral Committee registered three candidates. On 25th May, the candidates presented their programmes and answered questions, during the online pre-election meeting with members of the UW academic community. The European Commission and the Network on Humanitarian Action (NOHA) organize four regional roundtable debates. One of them will take place on 2nd March at the University of Warsaw.
