Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, appointed Anna Wołodko for the second term as the general director of the University of Warsaw Library.

According to the Statue of the University of Warsaw, the general director of the University of Warsaw Library is selected by the Rector from the group of candidates proposed in the competition. Prior to that, the Senate of the University of Warsaw and the Library Council need to deliver their opinion on the candidate. The term of the director is 5 years.

 

Anna Wołodko graduated from the University of Warsaw in library studies and Polish philology. She has been working at the BUW since the 1990s. She has served as Academic Secretary, managing national and international cooperation and supporting the participation of library staff in academic life. She also managed the Targeted Projects and Fund Raising Department of the BUW. Wołodko has participated in numerous internship trips to libraries in Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Madrid and Florence, among others.

 

Anna Wołodko is the general director of the Warsaw University Library from 2018. She manages the main library and coordinates the activities of the library and information system established by the BUW and 37 faculty libraries.

 

The second term of Anna Wołodko as the library’s general director will end in 2028.
