Research career development and mobility
Apart from international research programmes, international and intersectoral mobility is a key factor in the development of a scientific career, self-improvement and education. As part of the information campaign called “HR Excellence in Research at the UW in June” we are describing university initiatives regarding this issue.
Germanic coins of the 3rd c. AD
Germanic coinage dates back 200 years earlier than it was commonly believed. The international team, including researchers from the University of Warsaw, discovered coins produced by Germanic societies in the late 3rd century. The IMAGMA research results are presented in the video material available on YouTube.
The UW mini-grants under the 4EU+ Alliance
The University of Warsaw has launched the third edition of the mini-grants programme for inter-institutional research teams under the framework of strategic partnerships. The programme can be joined by researchers including University staff members and/or doctoral candidates and students, and representatives of at least two other member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance.
IDUB training courses in cooperation with the publisher Springer Nature
UW employees and doctoral candidates can take part in the latest online training courses, as part of the following “Excellence Initiative – Research University” (IDUB) in cooperation with the Springer Nature publishing house. Registrations for the course “Journal Editors” close on 5th November.
IDUB research infrastructure available to UW scientists
In spring 2021, 14 scientific groups obtained funding for the purchase of new research infrastructure from the “Excellence Initiative – Research University’ Programme” (IDUB). The first equipment has already been purchased – eight eye trackers requested by the Faculty of Psychology. They have been tested and are ready to use.
Six lectures on multilingualism
In March and April, experts in the field of multilingualism will present multilingualism from the linguistic, psycholinguistic and educational perspectives. On 15th April, the third lecture will be held. Prof. Jasone Cenoz from the University of the Basque Country will speak about multilingualism and translanguaging in education.
