Prof. Piotr Węgleński was an eminent scholar, an authority in the world of science and a Man of the University. On 1st February, the UW academic community bid farewell to the University’s long-standing Rector.

“It is a happy day for the University because of you, the most important part of our community. You have chosen the place where you can fulfil yourself in studying and exchange views with respect for other people,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, addressed new students and doctoral candidates during the opening ceremony of the academic year.
