The University of Warsaw Senate appointed six members to the University Council of the University of Warsaw: Prof. Mirosław Ząbek (chairman), Prof. Marek Bujnicki, Prof. Pearl Dykstra, Prof. Poul Holm, Prof. Marek Karliner and Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska. Kamil Bonas, the UW Student Council President, is part of the University Council ex officio.

The first University Council of the University of Warsaw was established by the decision of the Senate of the University of Warsaw in May 2019. The work schedule of the council for 2019 included five meetings. Works of the council concentrated both on current issues related to the activities of the University and on the strategy for further development of the University of Warsaw.

The University Council of the University of Warsaw advises the Rector and the Senate of the University of Warsaw and nominates candidates for the Rector position. To ensure transparency and good governance practices, the University Council announces an open call for candidates who are interested in the Rector position and meet the requirements. The deadline for sending applications: 31st January.

The University Council held its meeting on 15th-17th September. Participants were talking about programmes and initiatives that are strategic for the development of UW.

The University of Warsaw Senate appointed 6 members to the University Council: Prof. Janusz Bujnicki from the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, Prof. Pearl Dykstra from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Prof. Poul Holm from the Trinity College Dublin, Prof. Krzysztof Redlich from the University of Wrocław, Marynika Woroszylska-Sapieha and Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska.

On 6th March, the UW Senate elected two members of the university council: Prof. Janusz Bujnicki and Prof. Pearl Dykstra. According to the Law on Higher Education and Science, every public university will set up a new body – the university council.
