A university tie and cufflinks from the Rector, a day spent at an archaeological site, hosting a broadcast on Radio Kampus, a walk through the greenhouses of the UW Botanic Garden. These were some of the auctions of the University of Warsaw for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP). Fifty-one items were available this year.

The 32nd Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC, PL: Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, WOŚP) took place on 28th January. The University of Warsaw joined the fundraising to purchase medical equipment for the diagnosis, monitoring and rehabilitation of lung diseases of patients in pulmonology wards for children and adults.

As part of this year’s “UW gra dla WOŚP” (ENG: UW plays for GOCC ) campaign, members of the university community prepared a record-breaking number of fifty-one auctions. The auctioned items included:

  • a set of gadgets from the University of Warsaw PhD Students’ Union,
  • participation in the UW Open University courses,
  • the opportunity to accompany researchers on an archaeological site in Ciepło, Pomerania,
  • a guided walk around the historic UW campus,
  • a photography session in the open air and university interiors,
