On 28th September, on the UW main campus, an apartment-like tent of Welcome Point has been open again for students, doctoral candidates and employees from abroad. On 14th October, WP will also start its operation on another campus in Ochota district.

Welcome Point is an information point where everyone, especially students, can get help and information during their stay at the University of Warsaw. WP operates throughout the year. Currently, WP is situated in its pavilion on the main campus. The pavilion will be open from 28th September until 23rd October from 9 am to 4.30 pm. One can find it in the St. Roch Hospital on the UW main campus. However, from 17th September until 12th October, its employees will assist international students, and everyone who needs help, in the pavilion situated in the small courtyard.

 

“Like every year, Welcome Point moves to the pavilion in the small courtyard. We hope that this year, following the sanitary regulations, we will help an even higher number of international students”, says Katarzyna Basisty, the WP head. 

 

Visits to WP do not need to be arranged prior. One can come and receive information Everyone should follow the sanitary regulations: cover their mouth and nose, keep the distance from other people and use hand sanitizer.

 

The UW unit cooperates closely with the university units, including Admissions OfficeInternational Relations OfficeOffice for Student Affairs. WP provides elementary information regarding, e.g. the legalisation of stay, health care or accommodation. Students can also learn about the issues related to their studies. They can find out about how to register for courses, set an e-mail account, get an electronic student card, use libraries, sign up for the Polish language course, etc.

Welcome Point in Ochota district

On 14th October, WP will open its second office on the campus in Ochota district. The unit will be situated on the ground floor in the Centre of New Technologies building. It will be open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
