Climate change is not a myth. Scientists in the world are warning that we are at a defining moment to rescue our planet. UW experts initiated the creation of a textbook about climate. It is an interdisciplinary publication for university students, high school students and teachers.

The 16 experts from the University of Warsaw and other academic centres, representing various study areas, e.g. physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, economics, psychology and engineering, published the educational book entitled “Klimatyczne ABC” (Climate ABC), based on current scientific knowledge on climate, climate change, global warming, etc.

306 pages about climate

The textbook aims to help university students and others interested in this topic to understand climate change. The themes of the “Klimatyczne ABC” book refer to physics, chemistry, biology and ecology, geography and social studies. Authors prepared 13 lessons and 25 expert questions and answers based on reports from international organisations, scientific articles and links to open letters written by researchers globally. Great emphasis was put on the accessibility of the content and a consistent division of the material.

The book is divided into four parts, presenting the mechanisms of global warming (part 1), causes (part 2), consequences (part 3) and actions that can prevent the adverse effects of climate change (part 4).
