The DeepMind scholarships will be awarded for the fourth time this year. The offer is aimed at women interested in pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Warsaw, linked to machine learning research. The deadline for applications is 5th November.

The DeepMind Fellowship programme provides a connection with researchers and engineers and possibilities to study and conduct research in machine learning at top universities. In the 2023/2024 academic year, two scholarships will be awarded to women interested in pursuing a master’s degree at the UW, who want to specialise in machine learning and intend to conduct research in this area.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with DeepMind in this important scholarship programme. Our faculty is determined to contribute to the removal of barriers to women’s careers in computer science,” Prof. Paweł Strzelecki, the dean of the UW’s Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, says.

Two more scholarships will be awarded in the 2023/2024 academic year. The scholarship is open to female students who:

• have citizenship or right of residence in one of the Member States of the European Union;
• have been admitted in the 2023/2024 academic year to the first year of second-cycle studies at the University of Warsaw in one of the following fields of study: Data Science and Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, Machine Learning, or Applications of Physics in Biology and Medicine;
• intend to focus on research related to machine learning or artificial intelligence.

Each scholarship is €28,250 and includes:

• a monthly stipend of approximately €1,000 (maximum of twenty-four months);
• research travel funds of €2,400;
• €1650 for research or computer equipment.
