The University of Warsaw participated in the 1st EIT Food Innovation Marketplace. It was a meeting of the Knowledge and Innovation Community on Food which comprises partners from leading business, research centres and universities.

 

EIT Food comprises 50 partners across 13 countries including, among others, the University of Warsaw, University of Cambridge, Technical University of Munich, Autonomous University of Madrid, companies such as Robert Bosch GmbH, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Siemens or Sodexo.

 

The aim of EIT Food is to engage consumers in the change process, improve nutrition and make the food system more resource-efficient, secure, transparent and trusted.

 

From 22nd to 23rd Fubruary the 1st EIT Food Innovation Marketplace took place in Bilbao. The members of the consortium had an opportunity to talk, discuss, present ideas and find partners to potential research projects.

There were four keynotes:

  • “From lab to market: educating tomorrows food innovators”,
  • “From lab to market: how to generate innovations in the food space”,
  • “From business creation to creating business”,
  • “Can citizen participation drive innovation and societal change?”.

 

The University of Warsaw was represented by Prof. Beata Krasnodębska-Ostręga, Prof. Grażyna Wąsowicz, Konrad Zawadzki, Prof. Krzysztof Klincewicz and Dr. Magdalena Klimczuk-Kochańska.
