International employees of the University of Warsaw could join the intercultural communication and cultural adaptation workshop organised by the Welcome Point. The meeting took place on 24th May. 

The Welcome Point team organised a workshop on intercultural communication and cultural adaptation at the University of Warsaw. The training was dedicated to the international employees of the UW, hired on the basis of employment contracts, especially the academics.

 

The programme of the meeting included:

  • communication styles and assumptions concerning everyday cooperation within the academic context,
  • possible misunderstandings in intercultural communication,
  • the concept of Global Dexterity,
  • challenges to cultural adaptation at the UW,
  • strategies to bridge differences.

The event was  held on 24th May from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm in the Old Library building on the Main Campus at Krakowskie Przedmieście. The workshop was conducted by Dr Aleksandra Winiarska from the UW Institute of Applied Social Sciences.
