Over 210 participants joined initiatives organised within the 4EU+ for Ukraine project. Its second edition lasts until the end of the year. One of the most recent events in the series was a conference with students organised on 2nd December at the University of Warsaw. A summary meeting of the entire project was held on 10th-11th December.
“I am happy to see representatives of all partner universities and Ukrainian universities at the University of Warsaw. It is a good opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, but also to get to know each other better,” said Prof. Sambor Grucza, the UW Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Human Resources, at the opening of the student conference organised at the UW within the framework of the 4EU+ for Ukraine project.
The event was attended by students from the 4EU+ Alliance universities (the University of Warsaw, Charles University, Heidelberg University Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, Sorbonne University, University of Copenhagen, and the University of Milan), and Ukrainian partner universities (V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv). Also, Vasyl Melnychuk, Third Secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy to Poland and representatives of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), took part in the conference. NAWA is the coordinator of the “Solidarity with Ukraine” programme, under which the 4EU+ for Ukraine project is implemented by the UW.
“This meeting proves that it is good to be good. The University of Warsaw is a leader in Poland regarding the internationalisation of science and higher education. I am proud of the initiatives taken by the University. I am also glad that NAWA can support such significant undertakings as the 4EU+ for Ukraine project,” said Dr Łukasz Gołota, Deputy Director of NAWA, who also works at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
The meeting at the University of Warsaw was organised by the UW International Relations Office and the 4EU+ Student Committee. The students could discuss self-governance within the 4EU+ Alliance or digitalisation in higher education. They also participated in a workshop on the use of artificial intelligence tools.
