In November 1918, Poland regained its independence. Therefore, this year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our independence. Main festivities will take place on 11th November. On 12th November, the University of Warsaw will be closed due to a national holiday.

 

On 11th November, plenty of events will take place on the occasion of the centenary of the re-establishment of Poland’s independence. At noon the Polish National Anthem will be sung all over Poland. On that day also several marches, demonstrations and counterdemonstrations will in the centre of Warsaw. In recent years, there were a number of violent incidents. Please be cautious if you are in the area.

 

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence 12th November has been declared a national holiday. The University will be closed on that day.
