Director of DGAM Syria at the UW

The University of Warsaw was visited by Dr Anas Haj Zeidan, Director of the Syrian Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums. During the visit, meetings were held with, among others, Rector Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Chancellor Robert Grey and the representatives of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw.

Admissions for studies 2025/2026

More than 270 programmes await future students of the University of Warsaw. Admissions for first-cycle, full-cycle and selected second-cycle degree programmes in the 2025/2026 academic year will begin on 5th June. The results will be announced on 22nd July.

Admissions for UW Doctoral Schools 2025/2026

Enrolment has begun for the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, the Doctoral School of Humanities, the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences, and the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School. There are 325 places waiting for applicants in 26 scientific disciplines. Registration takes place electronically via the Internet Candidate Recruitment website.

New ERC ambassadors from the University of Warsaw

Researchers from the University of Warsaw – Prof. Justyna Olko from the Faculty of “Artes Liberales”  and Prof. Michał Tomza from the Faculty of Physics – have become ambassadors of the European Research Council (ERC) programme, which is intended to strengthen the role and visibility of this institution in Europe and around the world.

M3EP – new 4EU+ Alliance joint master’s degree programme

European Environmental Economics and Policy is a new second-cycle joint degree programme run by five member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance, including the University of Warsaw, as part of the M3EP project funded by the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters programme.

This is demonstrated by the results of research combining a detailed reconstruction of changes occurring in the ecosystems of Greater Poland with findings from archaeology, history and numismatics. A new mechanism to increase the effectiveness of mRNA-based therapeutics is described in the latest issue of “Nature”. The co-authors of the article are scientists from the University of Warsaw.
