From the grant agreement to successful project implementation. Under this theme, the Horizon Europe Implementation Day 2026 will take place on 29th September at the University of Warsaw. During the event, experts from the European Commission will provide practical guidance on implementing projects under “Horizon Europe”.
The event is organised by the National Contact Point for the “Horizon Europe” programme at the National Centre for Research and Development, in cooperation with the European Commission and the University of Warsaw.
Participants will receive up-to-date information on:
- simplification measures introduced in the “Horizon Europe 2026–2027” programme;
- lump-sum funding and technical reviews;
- the financial and non-financial obligations of beneficiaries;
- preparation for audits and ex-post checks;
- support services for bringing research results to market;
- the latest changes to the Funding & Tenders portal and the EU Funding & Me mobile app.
The Horizon Europe Implementation Day 2026 event is aimed at:
- beneficiaries of the “Horizon Europe” programme;
- project coordinators and scientific leaders;
- grant managers and project administrators;
- staff in finance departments;
- research support offices;
- universities, research organisations and innovative companies carrying out projects under the “Horizon Europe” programme.

UW – a leader in the “Horizon Europe” programme
“Horizon Europe” (HE) is the largest programme in the history of the European Union supporting scientific research and innovation. Its budget for 2021–2027 amounts to over 95 billion euros.
The National Contact Point (KPK) of the National Centre for Research and Development regularly publishes data on individual institutions’ participation in HE projects. According to information from June, the University of Warsaw remains the national leader in terms of the number of projects and coordination.
The UW in the EU’s “Horizon Europe” programme
- participation in 135 funded projects,
- coordination of 37 funded projects,
- over €65.7 million in net funding received.
To date, over 800 Polish institutions have become beneficiaries of the Horizon Europe programme, having signed grant agreements totalling over €1 billion.
