On 13th October in the Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace was the inauguration of a new academic year for scholarship holders of the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programme (EM A2).

 

Prof. Alojzy Nowak – vice-rector for research and liaison delivered the inauguration speech.

 

– I hope very much that you will enjoy the University of Warsaw and the University of Warsaw Library. We are pleased, you had chosen this place to study. You are bringing the new spirit, new culture and new possibilities. Our aim is to cooperate with many countries from all over the world – said prof. Alojzy Nowak.

 

During the meeting the scholarship holders could hear, among others, a presentation about the University of Warsaw, the lecture about Polish diaspora in Brazil and personal experience of the one participant of the EM A2 programme, who has been to Montenegro.

 

The Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programme aims at better understanding and mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries by cooperation in the field of higher education. It promotes exchanges of students, academic and administrative staff, knowledge and skills at higher education level.

 

The University of Warsaw hosts people from, among others, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Philippines, Georgia, India,  Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Cambodia, Peru and Russia.

 

In this academic year approximately 85 people will come to the University. The most popular studies are International Relations, Management, Economics.
