Over 61,000 enrolments by more than 32,000 candidates – on 22nd July we announced the results of the admission process for first-cycle and full-cycle programmes as well as some second-cycle programmes at the University of Warsaw. A total of 21,562 places are available for students at the UW in the new academic year.
More than 40,000 students, around 8,000 employees, three campuses, 25 faculties and more than 30 other units make the University of Warsaw the largest university in Poland. Here one can pursue studies in a wide range of fields: humanities, social sciences, exact and natural sciences, arts, engineering and technology, as well as medicine. The UW also offers individual interdisciplinary studies and degrees conducted in English.
Candidates are admitted to study at the University of Warsaw if they meet the qualification threshold for a given programme and fall within the specified limit of places. This year’s enrolment for first-cycle and full-cycle programmes as well as some second-cycle programmes lasted from 5th June to 9th July. Candidates could choose from over 300 programmes.
More than 61,000 enrolments
In the admission for the 2025/2026 academic year for first-cycle, second-cycle and full-cycle degree programmes, the University of Warsaw has prepared 15,890 places for full-time studies and 5,672 places for part-time studies.
Admission results were announced on 22nd July. Candidates can find out whether their qualification was successful from their personal accounts in the Internet Recruitment of Candidates (IRK) system.
Over 32,000 candidates have registered to study at the UW, with over 61,000 enrolments (including over 52,000 registrations for first-cycle and full-cycle programmes and almost 9,000 for second-cycle programmes). The record holder registered for 19 programmes.

- management, full-time, first-cycle (2828 enrolments);
- economics; finance and accounting; econometrics and data science, full-time, first-cycle (2759 enrolments);
- psychology, full-time, full-cycle (2640 enrolments);
- business finance and accounting, full-time, first-cycle (1911 enrolments);
- law, full-time, full-cycle (1879 enrolments);
- international relations, full-time, first-cycle (1826 enrolments);
- English studies – linguistics, English studies – literature and culture, full-time, first-cycle (1616 enrolments);
- medicine, full-time, first-cycle (1437 enrolments);
- journalism and media studies, full-time, first-cycle (1102 enrolments);
- criminology, full-time, first-cycle (new programme, 1028 enrolments).
Degrees with the highest number of candidates per place:
- medicine, full-time, full-cycle (23.95 candidates per place);
- business and management, full-time, first-cycle (22.18 candidates per place);
- Oriental studies – Japanese studies, full-time, first-cycle (20.44 candidates per place);
- criminology, full-time, first-cycle (new programme, 14.69 candidates per place);
- Oriental studies – sinology, full-time, first-cycle (14.04 candidates per place);
- Oriental studies – Korean studies, full-time, first-cycle(13.68 candidates per place);
- psychology, full-time, full-cycle (13.07 candidates per place);
- international relations, full-time, first-cycle (11.41 candidates per place);
- English studies – linguistics, English studies – literature and culture, full-time, first-cycle (10.43 candidates per place);
- management, full-time, first-cycle (8.84 candidates per place).
These are partial results – enrolment is still underway for some second-cycle programmes as well as some part-time first-cycle and full-cycle programmes. Submission of documents
Qualified students have three days to submit the required documents to the admission committees in the individual units, as communicated on their personal IRK account. Acceptance of documents is scheduled for 23rd–25th July. Candidates qualified in subsequent rounds will be able to submit their documents on 28th–29th July and 30th–31st July respectively. Candidates may learn in advance about the deadlines, which are given on the IRK website in the description of the rules of admission for a given degree.
If a candidate does not submit documents by the appropriate deadline indicated in their personal account in IRK, the next person from the reserve list will be qualified for their place.
In the event that the limit of places on a given programme is not filled, an additional round of enrolment may be launched. Registrations will be launched in August and September.

The programme addresses issues related to digital business and the effective implementation of digital technologies in organisations on international markets.
- Digital Marketing, part-time, second-cycle
The programme prepare students to work in a dynamic environment, teaching web analytics, marketing strategies, social media and tools based on artificial intelligence.
- investment consulting, full-time and part-time, second-cycle
The aim of the programme is to educate graduates with knowledge and in-depth understanding of investment consulting and investment decision-making in financial markets related to the discipline of economics and finance as well as in complementary disciplines such as management sciences and legal sciences.
- digital finance, full-time and part-time, second-cycle
The aim of the programme is to prepare students for the challenges of the modern digital economy and the dynamically changing world of finance. The programme responds to the needs of the market, employers and the expectations of generations Z and Alpha, emphasising the acquisition of knowledge and practical skills necessary in an economy based on new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, blockchain technology and DLT.
- Global Management, full-time, second-cycle (degree in English)
Students in this programme will learn about advanced strategic management, intercultural communication, corporate finance and international marketing.
- International Finance, full-time, second-cycle (degree in English)
Graduates will be familiar with, for example, methods, procedures and practices of effective financial management in an organisation operating in international markets, complex technological, social, political, legal, economic and ecological processes and phenomena. Students will also analyse the fundamental dilemmas of modern civilisation and their impact on the functioning of organisations and the economy as a whole.
- investment and data analysis, full-time and part-time, second-cycle
The aim of the programme is to prepare modern professionals who combine knowledge of finance, IT and data analysis. Students will learn to use software tools such as Python, R and SQL in data analysis from the ground up, and learn about the applications of artificial intelligence in risk assessment and investment portfolio management. They will gain the knowledge to respond effectively to changes in the digital and robotic economy and to create professional reports and investment recommendations based on real data.
- criminology, full-time, first-cycle
This is an interdisciplinary course that addresses theoretical and practical issues of crime and deviant phenomena, including the origins of criminal behaviour, types and dimensions of crime, profiles of perpetrators and victims, and social and legal responses to crime.
- gender and sexuality, full-time, second-cycle
Students will learn about contemporary theories of identity, as well as historical and institutional conditions of cultural perceptions and practices related to gender and sexuality.
- taxation in business – processes and technologies, full-time and part-time, second-cycle
Graduates will learn to move freely in a variety of tax issues, make business decisions related to the practical application of taxes and ways of providing tax advisory services.
- Social Design – prevention and social services, full-time, first degree
This is the first course of this kind at a public university in Poland, which prepares students to work in a broad sense with people, groups and communities.
- artificial intelligence and cognitive science, part-time, first-cycle
The interdisciplinary programme combines knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) with research into human cognitive processes and brain functioning. Students will gain knowledge of reasoning, language, learning and decision-making, while developing critical thinking skills and an understanding of both the mechanisms of human cognition and the operation of AI systems.

ZIP 2.0 courses
Seven additional courses will also be launched as part of the Integrated Didactic Development Programme – ZIP 2.0, co-financed by the European Social Fund under the “European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027” programme. These programmes are specifically tailored to the changing expectations and competences of students, as well as to the needs of the developing economy and the green and digital transformation. - Biological Therapeutics, full-time, second degree (degree in English)
This is the only second-cycle degree programme in Poland, conducted in English, which links science with the pharmaceutical industry; its curriculum was developed in cooperation with a leading research institution – the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw. The degree programme will provide in-depth knowledge and practical experience in designing and researching cutting-edge biological drugs that are revolutionising modern medicine.
- Digital Marketing, full-time, second-cycle
The programme prepare students to work in a dynamic environment, teaching web analytics, marketing strategies, social media and tools based on artificial intelligence.
- textual practices lab, full-time, first-cycle
Degree programme for those who wish to use literary and linguistic knowledge to change the broader socio-economic environment. Combining philological methods with new tools, students will train in text analysis, communication in the digital world and content design for culture, media and education.
- nature conservation, full-time, first-cycle
Degree programme that combines natural sciences and law, giving students the tools to realistically protect the biosphere.
- animal protection, full-time, second-cycle
This is a unique combination of law, social sciences, humanities and biological sciences that comprehensively prepares students to work in the area of legal protection and animal welfare. The degree programme is distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach, combining legal knowledge with psychology, biology and cultural studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between humans and animals in legal, ethical and environmental contexts.
- optometry and ocular optics, full-time, full-cycle
The graduate of this programme will learn how a person sees, what optical disorders and diseases of the visual system can interfere with good vision and how to counteract them. They will also learn how to carry out optometric examinations, how to use advanced measuring equipment and how to select the right correction in the form of glasses or contact lenses as well as other visual aids, for example for the visually impaired.
