On 9th June, admissions will open for first- and long-cycle studies, as well as some second-cycle studies, at the University of Warsaw. The admissions offer includes over 300 degree programmes. The results will be announced on 22nd July.
The University of Warsaw is the largest university in Poland. It has over 40,000 students and over 8,000 employees. Across its three campuses, there are 25 faculties and over 30 other units. Prospective students will be able to choose from over 300 degree programmes in the humanities, social sciences, exact and natural sciences, arts, engineering and technology, as well as medicine. The University of Warsaw also offers individual interdisciplinary studies and programmes conducted in English.

- 9th June: registration opens in the IRK system
- 9th July: last day for registration in the IRK
- 22nd July: announcement of admissions results
- 23rd–24th and 27th July: submission of documents by candidates accepted onto first- and long-cycle degree programmes

The admission dates for other programmes, including some programmes conducted in English, part-time first- and long-cycle degree programmes not covered by the above schedule, as well as second-cycle programmes, are set out in Order No. 9 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw of 20 January 2026. Registration deadlines are displayed for each degree programme in the IRK system (under the “OFFER” and “REGISTRATION” tabs).
For admission to first- and full-cycle degree programmes, results from the matura exam are taken into account. For some courses, additional entrance examinations are held.

In last year’s admissions process, the highest number of applicants per place was recorded for:
- Medicine, full-time, long-cycle (23.95);
- Business and Management, full-time, first-cycle (22.18);
- Oriental Studies – Japanese Studies, full-time, first-cycle (20.44).
The highest number of enrolments was recorded for:
- Management, full-time, first-cycle (2,828);
- Economics; Finance and Accounting; Econometrics and Data Science, full-time, first-cycle (2,759);
- Psychology, full-time, long-cycle (2,640).
The highest cut-off scores in the first round were for:
- Computer Science (90.36);
- Oriental Studies – Japanese Studies (88.55);
- Nuclear Energy (86.51);
- Oriental Studies – Chinese Studies (85.55);
- Oriental Studies – Korean Studies (85.4).
New degree programmes, which will commence on 1st October 2026:
- AI-assisted people management (second-cycle) – organised by the Faculty of Management: the programme trains leaders who can effectively manage both human potential and the use of artificial intelligence. Students will explore topics such as leadership and teamwork when one of the employees (or managers) is an AI agent, the similarities and differences between human and artificial intelligence, the psychological diversity of employees, analysis of labour market trends, adapting to change and designing a market-oriented approach to functioning in the labour market; ethical aspects of using AI in HR processes;
- New Technologies in Cultural Institutions (second-cycle) – organised by the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies: graduates will possess knowledge regarding the types of technology that help expand public access to cultural assets, as well as ways of attracting younger generations to cultural institutions;
- English Language Instruction (second-cycle) – organised by the Centre for Foreign Language Teacher Training and European Education: graduates will be prepared to work as English language teachers in non-formal education. The programme is aimed at candidates from diverse cultural backgrounds and will be conducted entirely in English;
- Andragogy – career guidance and learning process management (second-cycle), organised by the Faculty of Education: the andragogy programmes focus on the challenges of Industry 5.0 by shifting the educational paradigm towards a human-centred model, which aims to restore the balance between people and technology. Students will have access to unique facilities, such as a specialist room with a one-way mirror for observing group processes;
- Care, education and school pedagogy (first-cycle) – organised by the Faculty of Education;
- Pedagogy – studies in education, working with children and families (second-cycle), organised by the Faculty of Education: the new pedagogy programme emphasises the development of future-oriented competencies such as: resilience (mental resilience, flexibility and the ability to quickly regain balance after difficult experiences, stress or failures), emotional intelligence, critical thinking and digital literacy. Students will learn not only theory, but also “understanding the world” – a skill enabling them to navigate the diverse job market effectively.

Winners and finalists of academic Olympiads and thematic contests
The current rules governing the admission of winners and finalists of national academic competitions, as well as winners and finalists of international and national competitions, are set out in Resolution No. 164 of the UW Senate of 29 June 2022 on the rules for the admission of winners and finalists of national-level academic Olympiads, as well as winners of national and international competitions, to study in the academic year 2026/2027, together with the annex.
The privileges arising from the title of winner or finalist in the admissions process for first-and full-cycle programmes at the UW in the 2026/2027 academic year are available to those who hold a certificate of winner or finalist in a national-level competition, issued no earlier than in the 2022/2023 academic year.
