On 5th December, in the Golden Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace, a meeting organised by the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw was held, during which diplomas were awarded to the most active volunteers. The event was attended by Dr Maciej Raś, the UW’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching, and Katarzyna Żakowska, Director of the VC UW.
The awards were presented for exceptional commitment to the academic community in the 2023/2024 academic year.
“On behalf of the UW Rector, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, and myself, I would like to thank you sincerely for your activities for the benefit of our Alma Mater. I hope that what you do for society, for people who need support, brings you a lot of positive emotions and great satisfaction. Once again, I would like to thank you very much and at the same time encourage you to continue your activities,” Dr Maciej Raś, the UW’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching, said during the meeting.
All members of the UW community can get involved into the activities of the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw, which is why not only students but also employees working at the university were among the awarded.
The honoured volunteers were involved in initiatives such as the UW’s “Miasteczko na Styku Kultur – Cultural Hot Spot”, the Club for Neurodiverse Persons and the 4EU+ Annual Meeting.
