The University of Warsaw has launched a new website where you can learn how to act in an emergency situation: fire, accident, contamination or finding a suspicious object. The university also has an emergency telephone number: (22 55) 22 112.
Ensuring the safety of members of the University of Warsaw community is a priority. The UW takes all possible measures to prevent emergency situations. Among them is the launch of an emergency phone number and a website related to safety.
“The safety of the academic community is a priority for us. Nowadays, responsible and effective organisation of emergency response procedures is a necessity. That is why, together with the academic community, we have initiated the launch of a new emergency phone number to ensure quick contact in case of emergencies and a new website – a comprehensive source of information on how to deal with emergency situations,” Robert Grey, the UW Chancellor said, adding: “The website provides practical instructions on evacuation, emergency procedures and how to contact the relevant services. It is a tool designed to really enhance safety and build a sense of calm among all members of our academic community. We recognise that in a dynamic reality, situations requiring a quick response can happen. At such times, it is proven information and effective action that counts – and I believe that the new emergency phone number and the website will prove to be a reliable support in any crisis situation. However, this is just the beginning – the website will be developed to respond even better to the needs of our university. I encourage you to share your comments to help us improve it further. Together, let’s take care of the safety of our community.

Instructions for dealing with each of these situations are described on the newly created website: bezpieczenstwo.uw.edu.pl. You can also find information about evacuation rules and assembly points on campuses, the location of automatic external defibrillators at the UW, pre-medical first aid, legal assistance, data protection and the safe organisation of events and gatherings at the university.
Directly from the website, you can dial the UW emergency phone number and report an emergency via a dedicated form (also anonymously).
