Where is the largest auditorium at the UW? How to enter the roof garden at Browarna Street? Where to find the quiet work room, where is the post office or the clinic? We encourage you to discover the UW on the Open Campus platform. Everyone can suggest a new spot on the university map.
The Open Campus is part of the Powiśle Project carried out by students of the UW’s Institute of Polish Culture (IPC), the Social Arts Team in collaboration with the Centrum Cyfrowe. As part of the project, creative research into the community and surroundings of the Powiśle district was carried out in 2018. An online map showing the locations of the most important places on the UW Main Campus was also included. It was created not only for students, but also Warsaw residents and tourists who, while in the vicinity of Krakowskie Przedmieście, want to visit the University or are looking for a place to eat, a post office or a photocopying point.
The platform is constantly evolving, and today its new phase is being launched: the joint mapping of the University. In order to extend the guide’s reach to the other spaces of the University, especially the Ochota and Służewiec Campuses, the organisers are encouraging all representatives of the University: students, academic teachers, administrative employees and others, to complete the guide.
Using a simple form, new points on the map of UW Campuses can be suggested in the categories: TOUR, STUDY SPACE, FOOD AND DRINK, RELAX, SERVICES, TOILETS, FIRST AID.
The guide is available at ok.uw.edu.pl. The work on the map is coordinated by the Social Arts Team of IPC UW and the University’s IT Division.
