This May marked twenty years since Poland has joined the European Union. The future of Poland within its structures will be discussed by participants in a debate to be held on 13th June at the University of Warsaw.

At midnight on 1st May 2004, Poland became a member of the European Union. In a referendum held on 7th and 8th June 2003, 77.45 per cent of Poles voted in favour of joining the EU.

 

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of this event, the University of Warsaw is organising a debate entitled “Poland’s Future in the European Union”, which will take place on 13th June from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm in the Senate Hall of the University of Warsaw in the Kazimierzowski Palace.

 

The event will be attended by representatives of politics, science, business and the Church. The admission is free.
