This year’s Academic Ranking of World Universities, known as the Shanghai Ranking, has been published. The University of Warsaw is among the world’s top 500 universities, ranking between 401st and 500th. This is the best result among Polish universities.

ARWU is an international ranking of the world’s best universities, published since 2003. This year’s ranking by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy was published on 15th August.

It assessed over 2,500 universities from around the world, and the 1,000 highest-ranked were included in the published list.

The University of Warsaw ranks highest among Polish universities, between 401 and 500 position (the only university in Poland to be in the Top 500).

The top three places in the rankings are taken by American universities: Harvard University, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in that order.
