The University of Warsaw has been highly ranked in the first edition of the Research Collaboration Index 2027 – a new international ranking assessing academic collaboration between universities. The ranking covers 1,195 higher education institutions from 81 countries and is based on an analysis of bibliometric data and information on national and international research partnerships.
The University of Warsaw achieved its highest ranking in the discipline of Physics & Astronomy, coming 122nd in the world. The university also achieved high rankings in the fields of Arts & Humanities (168th), Mathematics (189th), Chemistry (249th), Psychology (331st) and Earth & Planetary Sciences (336th).
The Research Collaboration Index focuses exclusively on the assessment of research collaboration. It takes into account, amongst other things, the scale and durability of scientific partnerships, the international nature of collaboration, co-authorship of publications and activity in carrying out joint research projects. The ranking utilises data from open bibliometric databases and international grant databases.
The results of the first edition of the ranking confirm the University of Warsaw’s significant role in international scientific collaboration and the consistent development of research partnerships, which constitute one of the key elements of the university’s internationalisation strategy.
