On 22nd July, applicants to the University of Warsaw were informed of the results of this year’s admissions process. The university once again recorded record levels of interest from applicants. According to preliminary, partial figures, 38,800 people submitted and paid for 76,900 applications, which is one of the best results in the University of Warsaw’s history.

According to figures from 22nd July, 38,800 applicants had completed and paid for 76,900 applications, including:

  • 66,100 applications for first-cycle and integrated master’s degree programmes;
  • 10,800 applications for second-cycle degree programmes.

The programmes that attracted the most interest in terms of the number of paid enrolments were:

  • Economics; Finance and Accounting; Econometrics and Data Science, full-time, first-cycle (3,494 enrolments);
  • Management, full-time, first-cycle (3,142 enrolments);
  • psychology, full-time, integrated Master’s degree (2,943 enrolments).

The highest ratio of applicants per place was recorded in the following degree programmes:

  • Medicine, full-time, integrated Master’s programme: 32.78 (1,967 applicants for 60 places);
  • Business and Management, full-time, first-cycle: 26.23 (1,049 applicants for 40 places);
  • Asian and African Cultures – Japanese Studies, full-time, first-cycle: 19.12 (478 applicants for 25 places).

Enrolment is still open for selected part-time first-cycle degree programmes and integrated master’s programmes, as well as selected second-cycle degree programmes. The full range of degree programmes is available in the IRK system: irk.uw.edu.pl >>

According to figures from 22nd July, the number of students admitted to degree programmes was:

  • 17,300 (first-cycle and integrated master’s programmes);

4,300 (second-cycle programmes).
Among the new degree programmes, the most popular were:

  • Care and educational pedagogy, full-time, first-cycle: almost 10 applicants per place (299 applications for 30 places);
  • Criminology, part-time (extramural), first-cycle (the programme offered in a part-time format for the first time): 4.7 applicants per place (327 applications for 70 places).

Among this year’s applicants, three record-breakers registered and paid the application fee for as many as 16 degree programmes.
