During the summer, the University of Warsaw offers a wide range of courses, classes, workshops and training programmes – aimed at both the academic community and people from outside the university.
Polonicum Course
Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners Polonicum is organising its 71st residential summer course in Polish language and culture. The course is open to people aged 18 and over.
Throughout the course, Polish language lessons take place daily and are taught at all proficiency levels. The course fee also includes, amongst other things, visits to museums, film screenings, dance workshops, as well as lectures on Polish history and culture.
The course will run from 31st July to 28th August. The deadline for applications is 24th July.

The School of Oriental Languages and courses at the Faculty of Asian and African Cultures
The first registration period for the intensive language courses in July and September runs until 28th June. The programme includes courses in Arabic, Chinese, Turkish and Japanese, amongst others.
University of Warsaw students can attend the courses free of charge by using their language course credits. Courses for non-University of Warsaw students are subject to a fee. Classes will be held either in person or online.

In addition to the courses at the School of Oriental Languages, the UW Faculty of Asian and African Cultures also offers two language schools in the summer – for Bengali and Hebrew.
Open University
The courses offered by the University of Warsaw Open University (UOUW) are aimed at people aged 16 and over. Classes are held in six subject areas: culture and ideas; world languages; people and society; law, business and IT; science and the environment; and leisure and hobbies. All courses are fee-paying. The programme includes, amongst others:
- AI for Sceptics: Applications and Limitations – online course;
- Communication Essentials: small talk, business, personality and the art of listening – English (level B1) – online course;
- ¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? – Spanish for Beginners – Part I (level A1) – online course;
- ‘A healthy mind in a healthy body’ – intensive course on the basics of nutrition and lifestyle – online course.

Welcome Point
Welcome Point offers training courses aimed at academic staff.
- On 22nd June, a training session will be held for the University of Warsaw’s administrative staff on the use of plain language in communication. Participants will learn, amongst other things, about standardised plain language guidelines (including ISO standards).
- On 26th June, a training session on management and communication in multicultural teams will take place, marking the launch of the NAWA–EURAXESS network in Mazovia.
- On 1st July, a training session aimed at developing communication skills and intercultural sensitivity will take place, aimed at academic administration staff.
