On 28th October, University of Warsaw hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The discussions focused on opportunities for developing academic and research cooperation.
The meeting took place in the Golden Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace on the UW Main Campus at Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.
Participants included, among others, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Sambor Gucza, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Human Resources, Prof. Joanna Kargul from the Centre of New Technologies (CeNT UW), Dr. Anna Sadecka and Dominika Frąk-Dudzińska from the University of Warsaw International Relations Office.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was represented by, among others, Prof. Hoi Ying Wong, Associate Dean for Student Affairs (Department of Statistics and Data Science), Prof. To Ngai, Associate Dean for Research (Department of Chemistry), Prof. Michael Pittman (School of Life Sciences) and Prof. Oleksandr Savateev from the Department of Chemistry.
The participants discussed opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the two universities, implementing joint research projects, and developing student exchange programs.
Later that day, the CUHK delegation met with staff and students at the UW Centre of New Technologies, where Prof. Oleksandr Savateev delivered an online lecture on photocatalysts in solar fuel production.
