On 11th September, representatives of the University of Warsaw and seven other Polish universities signed a collaboration agreement with Poland in Silicon Valley Center for Science, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. Joint activities will include the promotion and publication of research results and university-led cooperation with industry.

In July, the Poland in Silicon Valley Center was launched in California, providing a bridge of knowledge, experience and resources between Polish institutions and the American Silicon Valley.

Collaboration agreement

On 11th September, representatives of eight Polish universities signed a collaboration agreement with the Center, which will cover the following issues:

  • the promotion and publication of research results and university-led cooperation with industry;
  • the organisation of a seminar for university communities on a selected technology developed in Silicon Valley;
  • the organisation of events promoting the universities’ research results.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, and representatives of the AGH University of Krakow, Lodz University of Technology, Poznan University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan.

 

The meeting was also attended by Dariusz Wieczorek, the Minister of Science, Prof. Piotr Moncarz from Stanford University, who heads the Poland in Silicon Valley Center, Prof. Andrzej Nowak from Auburn University, Robert Grey, the UW Chancellor, and representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
