The University of Warsaw hosts the 2nd Congress of Internationalisation organised by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange and National Science Centre. The event takes place from 11th to 12th September in the Old Library building on the UW Main Campus. The registration is open.
The 2nd Congress of Internationalisation is a follow-up of the debate held in the spring in Gdańsk. During the event, representatives of academic and scientific community will discuss the internationalisation of Polish higher education and science.
The key part of the congress will be the discussion between the representatives of the ministries for Foreign Affairs, Development and Technology, and Development Funds and Regional Policy. These are Prof. Andrzej Szeptycki, Dr Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, Jan Szyszko and Ignacy Niemczycki. The opening speech will be delivered by Prof. Hans de Wit, an excellent Dutch expert in the area of internationalisation.
The congress will also address the issue of how to encourage talented scientists to stay in their countries. Polish researchers who have successfully worked abroad will share their stories, describing how international mobility has influenced their career development.
An important topic raised during the event will be the European Universities alliances and their role in building strategic cooperation and improving the research quality and effectiveness. One of such alliances is 4EU+, of which the University of Warsaw is a member.
