“The discussions regarding democracy, peaceful development and tolerance are always important,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said during a meeting on countering disinformation, organised on 13th October at the Centre for French Culture and Francophone Studies, the University of Warsaw. The event was an initiative of the Weimar Triangle.
On 13th October, experts from Poland, Germany and France met at the UW’s Centre for French Culture and Francophone Studies to discuss the topic of reliable journalism and strategies of countering disinformation in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The conference was opened by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector.
“The University of Warsaw is, just like German and French universities, an open institution. The discussions regarding democracy, peaceful development and tolerance are always important. That is why, I would like to thank the Director of the Centre for French Culture and Francophone Studies for organising this meeting. I am sure that we will have a good discussion and various points of view will be presented,” the UW Rector stressed.
The conference was attended by, among others, Étienne de Poncins, the French Ambassador to Poland and Robert Rohde, chargé d’affaires at the German Embassy.
